How to become a security officer?

Step 1. Apply for Security Officer (SO) License, PLRD Clearance

To obtain a SO license, you need to get clearance from the Police Licensing & Regulatory Department (PLRD).

Login with your Singpass to the following link on the LicenseOne website and complete the process:

https://licence1.business.gov.sg/feportal/web/frontier/e-service

Note the Following:

• Application Fee: $16.00. Keep your credit card / debit card handy to make the payment online.
• Processing Time: 2 weeks
• Malaysians are required to have a valid Singapore work permit and a Letter of Good Conduct to apply for CCOE here.

Step 2. Complete the 3 Basic Licensing Units (BLUs)

It is mandatory to undergo and complete training in the 3 Basic Licensing Units. You may sign up for the B.L.U. courses with Spyrrus Pte Ltd which is one of the best security training institutes in Singapore.

Step 3. Apply for the Security ID Card

Upon completing the 3 Basic Licensing Units and after the security officer application has been approved, you can apply for your security ID card through the USE ID Card Portal.

Do note that walk-in applications are no longer possible.
